I’m vegetarian with a little “off and on”, too. Especially around the holidays. I decided this year that one could be vegetarian in percentages: like 90 or 95% vegetarian. Why not?

I actually wear goggles! LOL! I had a pair from taking chemistry in college and didn’t know what to do with them. I tried it once and never looked back. I never cry when cutting onions now. It’s amazing and hilarious 😆

I actually did the same thing with my chemistry class goggles 😁 when I have to cut a lot of unions. I actually flew by wearing my goggles this summer. It adds another layer of protection +mask 😷 +gloves

Made this tonight and it was amazing! We aren’t dairy free so I finished it with a tablespoon of butter at the end and added some fresh grated Parmesan to serve. So good!

I’ve done goggles and a match, alone and together, and neither work when chopping onion. The best hint I’ve found is to half and peel the onion, out both sides in a bowl,of cold water for a couple of minutes, drain and chop one half, then do the other half.
My great grand mother “Mama Essie” use to store her brunswick stew in the freezer by putting it in half gallon paper milk cartons. They are wax coated on the outside and prevent freezer burn.
My eyes are hyper sensitive to onions as well.

Try making a sliding action when cutting, not pushing. That makes a lot of difference when dealing with onions.
