        Skatinka says:

What’s the point to call it a steak. Call it for what it is. Vegetable patty.

        v reese says:

@Rose Alvisa I some what agree, I’m not looking to become vegan. I do eat be small amounts of poultry & fish once & awhile. Haven’t had red meat in a long time. My father has heart issues & he basically is on plant based be diet. Fruits, veggies & very lean meat on limited basis. So though I don’t desire to be vegan I’m open to trying some meat alternatives. I haven’t liked some of it. Gonna try jack fruit as pulled meat alternative, & as chicken & fish replacement. Sort of can’t wait to make it

        DevRex says:

Tricking the mind that it’s what you need but it’s just a bunch of plants and carbs.

        Monique Hall says:

I made this for the first time as dinner tonight and it was blazing! I used veggie stock and I noticed that my seitan was darker, which was great because it looked just like steak! I made the mac and cheese that you created, minus the breadcrumb topping and some mashed potatoes to go along with it and OMG, this whole meal was impeccable! I finished my plate in less than 15min. The texture was perfect! I kept thinking, “damn this is vegan?!” As a new vegan (7 mos), I thoroughly enjoyed this, Rose, thank you! I didn’t have a steamer so I filled a large skillet with an inch of water, balled up three pieces of aluminum foil, put my seitan on a heat-friendly glass plate for 45 mins on medium to medium high heat, covered it with another plate, and it was gucci!

        Silas Bock says:

You just pretended to discuss intelligently while constantly ignoring the statements the other person said and repeating your own stupid point again and again.
Also just by the way you keep insulting someone just because he disagrees I can tell you are a very pathetic person.

        Melike Gezgin says:

If you want to boil it How long should you Do it for

        Jenny Constantine says:

        Heyyyyy
I would rethink using the aluminium foil as it’s not healthy to cook food in; carcinogenic properties when comes in contact with the food and especially cooking in foil containers!

Adding in a bit of liquid smoke to the marinate adds an awesome smokyness to the steaks!

        Electric Deckhead says:

@G S wow, lions eat meat, WTF, this article shows how lacking a vegans brain is, a balanced diet of meat, veg and fruit is the best way for a human being to live, vitamin D supplements do not grow on trees and a true vegan that chooses not to lie to themselves for the sake of winning an argument will admit to taking them otherwise your doing it wrong. The fact your trying to mimic meat says a lot about your cravings due to your choices, hahahaha

        G S says:

@Electric Deckhead What a thoughtful, coherent and original response.

        G S says:

@KarumaGaming Yes, and I can call myself an atheist because I don’t go to church, even if I believe in a god, but that doesn’t change the meaning of atheism or make me an atheist. Language is of course dynamic and changing, but a deliberate and developed philosophy doesn’t change just because some people use the word incorrectly. However, as I said, it’s fine with me if people use the label for the convenience reason you mentioned.

        Electric Deckhead says:

        @G S thankyou!

        KarumaGaming says:

        @G S lol okay buddy.

i was infected with genital herpes in 2019 and i have been on the quest for cure since then. October last year when i almost gave up, I came across a post on the internet where i copied the email of a man named dr ebhariagbe who provides herbal solutions to diseases. i contacted him and got to an agreement with him and he sent me herbal remedy through the united parcel service along side instruction on how to use it. To my greatest surprise, I got healed after 14days of using the remedy as assured by the doctor.
I decided to share this because i know that there are lots of people out there that needs help.visit his Instagram page via @dr_ebhariagbe or message him on WhatsApp +2349064310416

        @Gxsmxsk76 🤨

        lycanravage says:

@Gxsmxsk76 what’s the deal with grain fed livestock?

        Gxsmxsk76 says:

lycanravage the way the animals are treated, the quality of grain, contaminated grain, pesticides, gmo and possibility of getting sick from raw grain fed beef

        My2Cents says:

@Gxsmxsk76 no. There is such a thing as red meat intolerance, as well as red meat allergy. The allergy is usually found in people who have been bitten by Lone Star ticks. Also, half a teaspoon of Liquid Smoke or somethong similar isn’t going to hurt anyone. Anything cooked on the grill contains carginogens naturally and yet most people do just fine eating it. If you’re going to troll people, at least refrain from doing it on a public platform where you might encounter people who know better.

Plant Based Cooking by WannaBee Chef says:

That’s so sweet and thoughtful of you, Jessica!

        Ohmi Dios says:

@Ohmi Dios well luckily nowadays there’s all sorts of great chicken, beef, fish substitutes that are healthier and way better for the planet, and animals of course 💚

        Thunderlemon says:

@Mr. ParkPlace757 VA I don’t go vegan because I just simply don’t want to. I can still enjoy certain vegan recipes and prefer to go back to my meat in the end, can I not?

        Alien says:

@Thunderlemon Nobody can force you to go vegan. We can just tell you why you should go vegan, there are lots of reasons to go vegan im not going to get into that cuz the comment will be too long but at the end of the day its your decision no point in asking here “can i not”? Nobody is holding a gun to your head and saying go vegan. We are just providing you non vegans some information but some people say vegans are too extreme.

        Jessica H says:

I couldn’t handle being a vegetarian or vegan. I wish vegans understood harm reduction if they actually care about animals and the environment. But vegan meals are delicious and creative for everyone.

        Parys West says:

@Ohmi Dios enjoy what you want to enjoy. One reason why many people don’t really care for vegans is that they try to force everyone to become vegan. Some people just don’t want to and that’s okay. 🥰😊

        Denise Foreman says:

Hi, I just started the vegan trail, so this is the first time making anything. As I speak my vegan stakes are steaming. I don’t own a steamer so I had to be creative with that. One thing I had smoke paprika,so I don’t know what difference that’s going to make.
I’m very excited. I stopped eating meat in January, in May I started my vegan journey, just eating vegetables and lost 12 pounds .

        My2Cents says:

Hi, I have a tip to add… I discovered that by combining hickory seasoning, paprika, a bit of salt, sugar, and black pepper you can make a bacon-ish, meaty flavor. The first 2 ingredients need to take up the most space. You can play with it till you get what you like. A lot of people don’t like Liquid Smoke because it isn’t organic, but it also helps a lot, and you only need a little. Also Worchestershore sauce and soy sauce/liquid aminos are great for adding to the meaty flavor.
If you add a bit of sage, rosemary, and basil you can turn it into a sausage flavor.
It’s great with anything you’d normally make with bacon such as greens, cabbage, some soups, etc. Also works good if you make tacos with vegetables instead of meat. Just remember when eating vegetarian, to take vitamin b12 as your vitamin, eat lots of protein (any type of legumes mixed with grains including rice forms a complete protein), and get lots of variety. Some foods take time to learn to like because our taste buds get used to meat. Nuts, greens and especially spinach (I like it raw as a substitute for lettuce) will provide most of your iron needs too.

        pink gypsy tees 1007 says:

How did you create your own steamer? (I don’t have one either 😊)

        miss tery says:

yes! you can do this! go vegan for the animals

        Moose-Factory says:

        Are you still vegan ?

        G S says:

Hooray! I hope it all worked out for you. If you’re like most of us, you’ll feel it’s the best decision you ever made.

        B J says:

I made my first batch today and it was really good. I used tomate paste instead of tomato sauce. I had to add additional vegetable stock due to the thickness. I also add a little more spices, because I love spicy food. I didn’t have whole thyme so I use the powder instead and I put it in the oil with the garlic and added red and yellow peppers. I ate it with fresh mash potato and sautéed mushrooms and onions. I truly enjoyed it. I gave my husband a taste and he like the flavor. I steamed my steaks in my instant pot. It did the job. I made 3 steaks and put 6 in the freezer for later. Thank you and blessings to you and your family!

        Lisa A says:

Yum. I will make it today! Thanks

        gigi kean says:

Can you tell me the setting and amount of time in the instapot?

        Daan says:

Yes please how much time in the instant pot ? 🙏

Plant Based Cooking by WannaBee Chef says:

I didn’t regret it when we purchased our Instant Pot! We can make a lot of things with it, and I love that in this vegan steak recipe, you were able to use it too! 🙂

        Melitta Stafford says:

My boyfriend and I are going to make these for our anniversary this weekend. Really excited about it. We plan on cooking them over an open fire. I will have to let everyone know how it turns out.

        Grayson Bateman says:

Well girl… how it turn out? Lol, give us a lil edit

        Melitta Stafford says:

They were delicious. Though if I make them again I may possibly cook them a little longer on a lower heat with a little veggie broth in the pan. I would have liked it to be more tender. I can definitely see making these again

        Dominguez Christopher says:

Melitta Stafford they were definitely burnt 😂

        Martina Kaye says:

Dominguez Christopher You live and you learn. Ahah Thank you for sharing, Melittla!! Gotta try this soon.
