Who is giving veganuary a go? Hopefully this sparks some budget-friendly recipe ideas for you! The ingredients and budget breakdown is all listed in the description 🙂
Rooz Khosh I need my hair to thin out. Maybe I’ll go vegan for awhile.
Hi great video, where do you recommend I buy nutritional yeast ?
I am vegatarian only because as a vegan i was eating to high of carbs for my diabetes. I have pancreatic cancer that left me diabetic. So my oncologist recommends the extra protein from eggs and lower carbs by adding dairy. Also the option of yogurt and the probiotics. But giving up meat from my diet has been rewarding. I also dont use leather and try to buy ethical items. Thankyou for the delious affordable ideas.
I made a meal today all vegan, it was 56 cents lol. Mothet be shocked. The couscous tasted awesome
i absolutely hate the misconception that veganism is expensive. i’ve been vegan for a year and a half and i’ve saved so much money on food its insane! loved these recipes as well!
@Frau Katzenbär To make nut milk you need nuts, which are expensive
@Frau Katzenbär Also Chia seeds aren’t expensive when you consider how little you use at a time- omega 3 is also essential
@Jordan Okay. Guess I forgot that it’s different in other countries. But you’re right, chia seeds should last some time and nuts are really expensive, though they should last some time, as well.
In my country vegan food is very expensive tho 🙁
It honestly depends where you live, your wage, how much do you have to pay for lease, what kind of prices you have and how much time for cooking you have. Where I live most normal – vegan, vegetarian products, asian too are really expensive and counts as fancy food. Nutritional yeast – 100g – 7 euros, excuse me. So if you wanna be vegan/vegetarian and do not have money – you’ll have to eat same diet as with meat minus the meat as it is impossible to buy all kinds of vegetarian/vegan products (except soya cubes, the only cheap thing lol)
love this! you should try and do “vegan budget friendly luxury recipes” so like copies of takeaway dishes or dishes people would think cost more than they do.
Great video and editing !
It’s amazing how inexpensive good whole foods can be.. Thanks
inexpensive is a clever word
Barbara Carbone I
Barbara Carbone yesss and you can spend your money on hobbies like films and travel
I guess if she ate more fresh fruits and veggies I would agree. However, it was grain heavy which is cheaper at least in the U.S. because it is subsidized. I don’t consider processed foods as whole foods.
@Rosida Andriyana I clearly stated I’m in the US. You should know we spell words differently. Pay attention.
Idk if I’ll make these. But this was super relaxing to watch.
Omg 😂 that onion moment. Officially my favorite person now.
I love the way you cook your rice! They look perfect. Also love how accurately you make Indian recipes. Makes me trust your other recipes even more 😛
Hehe thank you! Indian recipes are some of my favourites!
Yas
You look like a cute little vegan Nigella.
OMG this is my favourite comment ever ❤️
No lies told 😊
Hu nigella
the lack of oil in everything triggers me so bad haha. Especially with spices… cooking in oil blooms the spices and makes them much better
i cannot live without my extravirgin olive oil!! which is the best thing in this worlddddddddd
Yes I was thinking about the lack of oil too, our body needs them for essential fatty acids and vitamin E. Oil free food isn’t a very healthy option. That’s not an opinion but a scientific fact. A spoon of oil won’t break the bank neither…
@Marit van Splunter your body does not need oil, its concentrated fat from food you should just eat in whole form.
@Marit van Splunter your body doesnt need oil at all, it needs fat in moderation
A lot of Indian recipes advise dry frying I’ve noticed. Maybe it’s a tradition because of course culturally olive oil isn’t typically in their cuisine.
I don’t know why, but I love watching you cook!!! The way you guys film the process really keeps me glued to the screen!!
seriously just paused the video and made the oatmeal
I literally just made every single one of these lol
Caitlin Gare how were they? Could you rate them from a scale of 1-10?
@RubiTootie oatmeal : 4.5, must use half alond or soy milk and half water or not as good.
Red lentil dahl : 5.0, use a more of the spices though
Chili sin corne: 5.0, again use exyra spices. I didnt like it with rice though i had it with a salad
Stir fry: 3.5, i just dont like the mix of condememts used to flavoir i dont like asian noodles to much though, except thai food
I love your style!!!!
Eating onions right off the cutting board is next level tho lol
@Luna well I can understand broccoli but raw onion on its own is too much for me and I love onion
Raw red onions are so good tho!!
PinkAsmr dissaproves
(Btw no hate on anyone!)
Mary you the best 🖤
@Fatima Ben why do you need to say you’re not vegetarian or vegan. Everybody eats plants fam lol
i’m not even vegan but these foods look SO DAMN GOOD i’m hungry now
That oatmeal had me drooling… I eat oats everyday and don’t know why I never make this😂
I can’t believe how much more expensive foos is in Romania, a poorer country.. brown pasta for 0,56?? Here it’s like 1,5£.. and everything seems to be more expensive here..😑 but people earn way less
te inteleg…
Same in Portugal
Buy in bulk!
@Clayton Thomas A bag of supermarket brand pasta (not the basics range) is 50-60p in most shops. Basics range pasta is around 20p but you can only get spaghetti or penne.
Similar issue in macedonia too
I’m turning pescatarian after eating meat almost everyday for 20years, and this is helping me soooo much !
My gosh, want to try all these recipes but there are some ingredients that I’ve never heard about it before 😭
