Who doesn’t love a simple tomato pasta? It’s a classic that can be taken in so many ways, and Jamie’s got some little hints to make this so quick, delicious and easy that you’ll have no excuses not to cook from scratch at all. To make it even more special, Jamie’s got Davina on hand, as they were filming a new documentary celebrating 20 Years of The Naked Chef. Make sure you keep an eye out for that one too!

The art of a pasta sauce is using the cheapest tomatoes. Basil is an annual plant and really hard to grow. Using expensive tomatoes and fresh basil is a joke, 99% of people won't have either available.

My recipe: tin of cheapest tomatoes, two anchovies from a tin, chopped, white onion chopped, chilli flakes, loads of oil. Oil in first, on high, anchovies and chilli flakes 1 minute, turn down heat, onion in until soft, but not brown, tomatoes in. Pasta on. When ready, use tongs to lift pasta into sauce. Toss up and serve.

The sauce is pretty good but as an Italian I beg you not to treat lasagna like that 😂 Instead go for spaghetti, short pasta or something like ravioli/tortelloni.
